AMICA GENIALE ISCHIA FILM

The island of Ischia is the backdrop for the Italian-American television series L’Amica Geniale ‘My brilliant friend’ directed by Saverio Costanzo and aired on Rai 1 since February 2020 with the protagonists Margherita Mazzucco and Gaia Girace.
The series is based on the novels of Elena Ferrante. The shooting took place from October 2017 to June 2018 also on the island of Ischia which in particular, thanks to the second series, relives the beauty of the 50s, without cars but with carriages and horses, and stylish inns back.
The second season entitled “History of the new surname” more than the first makes Ischia the silent protagonist, with the choice of a much more complex set with shots in Forio, Ischia Ponte, Lacco Ameno and the Maronti beach.
